PCC Ceramic Grinding Media
YTZP (Yttria Tetragonal Zirconia Polycrystals):
- Only highly pure, chemically precipitated, raw materials are used.
- Made by an advanced manufacturing process which results in improved
sphericity.
- Sintered to near theoretical density while maintaining a grain size of less than
0.5 microns to yield 100% tetragonal phase content.
- Fine microstructure and tetragonal phase content yields high toughness,
extremely high strength and a smooth media surface.
The combination of these properties gives YTZP superior wear resistance
for longer service life and reduced product contamination. YTZP Grinding
Media's improved sphericity and its smooth surface ensure uniform movement
of media and product in the mill, and reduces wear of media and mill
linings. Higher density also increases milling efficiency.
Alumina:
Finer, denser microstructure improves wear resistance
- PCC Alumina Balls' fine microstructure combined with low porosity improves strength and wear resistance.
- Fine microstructure results in a smoother ball surface which reduces friction and wear at the mill wall. This can extend the life of the mill
lining by up to 50%.
Pressureless Sintered Silicon Nitride:
- High fracture toughness
- Very hard and strong
- Excellent wear resistance
- Typical chemical composition
- Si3N4……..92%
- Y2O3………5%
- Al2O3………….3%
